Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick was happy with the response of the team for their recent defeat in Greece, they beat West Brom 3-0 at The Hawthorns.
United had not been in action for 12 days since the 2-0 defeat to Olympiakos in the Champions League in their last - 16 in the first leg tie.
But the visitors looked more assertive about their trip in the Midlands Premier League goals Saturday Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck gave them a deserved victory .
"It was an important day for us , we had to bounce back ," said Carrick .
" It feels like a long time since the last match before international matches, so we had to make and really show that we are a good team.

"We looked dangerous going forward and we defended well . All in all, we could not have asked for much more of our performance.
" It has been frustrating this season because, at times, in terms of performance , we controlled the game and we did not come away with the results we wanted.
