EFE - foot club Roma today a project to build a new stadium a capacity of 52 thousand spectators, can be increased to 60 thousand, is expected to open in the 2016-2017 season.
The new stadium will carry the name " Stadium of Rome" to succeed the current pitch of " wolves " Olimpico Stadium .
The club did not disclose the cost of capital for the project , but the newspaper ( La Gazzetta dello Sport ) pointed out that it would cost 300 million euros.
The project presented on Wednesday at the headquarters of the municipality of Rome in the presence of Mayor Ignacio Marino and club president James Ballotta .
The " Stadium of Rome ," the second privately owned stadium in Italy after Juventus Stadium , which opened in 2011 .
He praised President Ballotta and team captain Francesco Totti and Giuseppe Rossi 's future project , and considered it a source of pride for the club and the gesture will bring many positives and profits to him .
The Olimpico Stadium opened in 1953 , and is owned by the municipality of Rome , and a capacity for 73 thousand fans .
