FA Cup: Arsenal reach the FA Cup semi-final with a 4-1 win over Everton







Arsenal booked their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a nice 4-1 win over Everton at the Emirates.


Mesut Ozil Arsenal an early lead with his first goal in three months before Romelu Lukaku Everton drew level at the break.

Mikel Arteta Arsenal restored the advantage of the mid- point penalty through the second half before substitute Olivier Giroud scored two goals in two minutes to send Arsene Wenger's men at Wembley and end Roberto Martinez taking the FA Cup.

Arsenal opened the scoring after just seven minutes with their first attack of the game as Santi Cazorla has capitalized on a slip of James McCarthy to find Ozil inside the box with a sliding pass perfect rule and German coolly slotted the ball past Joel for his first goal since his goal against Everton in December.

The goal lifted Arsenal and Yaya Sanogo and Alex Oxlade -Chamberlain both saw shots from the edge of the area by Joel pushed the home side went in search of a second goal.

Everton was close to scoring on 10 minutes when the ball fell to Steven Pienaar in the box, but Bacary Sagna has returned to make a vital block and smother the danger.

Both sides poured forward at every opportunity and Kieran Gibbs had a view of the target of 17 minutes when Ozil him dive inside the box, but John Stones returned to block his shot .

Joel almost gifted Arsenal a second goal in the 24th minute when he made a mess of a cross from the right Sagna , bending over his own crossbar under no pressure .

Everton equalized in the 32nd minute with Lukaku find on the net with Ross Barkley supplier after a superb run and cross.

Barkley ran clear from the midline before choosing Kevin Mirallas with a passage to the nearest centimeter , only Belgium scratch his shot with the goal at his thank you and he was relieved to see Lukaku on hand to tap the ball at close range .

Arsenal tried to respond and Oxlade -Chamberlain Joel forced into a good save with a powerful left-foot shot from the edge of the area that the Everton keeper did well to turn around the post .

Play switched up the other end and Mirallas could have done better when he found space inside the box, but his shot lacked the power to trouble Lukasz Fabianski .

Everton had a great chance to catch the two main minutes before the break when Oxlade -Chamberlain gave the ball in his own half Lukaku leave Arsenal outnumbered at the back , but the big striker took too long and the young midfielder returned to make one last vital tackle luck.

Everton had another opportunity in the 54th minute when Thomas Vermaelen Lukaku stolen on the right and took Barkley on the edge of the box, but he drove his shot over the top.

Arsenal won a penalty in the 66th minute when Gareth Barry triggered Oxlade -Chamberlain inside the box and Arteta , after being forced to take his penalty following a breach by substutute Giroud, kept his composure to pull in the top corner past Joel .

The impressive Cazorla came to Arsenal three minutes later when he cut in from the left and fired in a low shot that Joel did well to turn around the post .

The local team was 3-1 seven minutes from time when Sagna crossed for Giroud home inside the six-yard box volleyball.

France and the International put the game out with Everton 's fourth goal of Arsenal two minutes later when he collected a pass from Ozil and slotted the ball home past Joel .
