Top seed Dominika Cibulkova had a relatively easy opening of the Malaysian Open as she saw off qualifier PEMRA Ozgen Wednesday. The Australian Open finalist already has a single WTA title to his
name this year and is on track to add to its success Acapulco after a
6-1 6-3 victory over qualifier Turkish.Cibulkova
was always likely to be too strong for the world number 216, and so it
proved as she raced into a 5-0 lead before closing the first set in 27
minutes during the hard court WTA International Event .The second was a more difficult test for the Slovak who was 2-1 and 3-2 before reeling last four games to advance.Fourth seed Patricia Mayr- Achleitner was made to work harder than 19
years Montenegrin Danka Kovinic but eventually progressed 6-4 3-6 6-1
despite losing two of three match points in the third set.Italian Giulia Gatto Qualifier - Monticone saw his race at the end of
the competition in the second round , as she crashed 6-1 6-4 at number
six seed Zarina Diyas .Gatto - Monticone saw off Tunisian Ons Jabeur the first round but Dyas
was too strong , winning by a little over an hour to a potential
meeting with top-seeded Cibulkova in the quarterfinals .There should be no more changes to qualify Ukraine Lyudmyla Kichenok either as she was beaten 6-1 6-2 by Magda Linette Poland. The 21 -year-old beat eighth seed Ayumi Morita in the first round ,
but it was no match for Linette whose winning run through sets new game
assured him a place in the quarterfinals. She will face second seed Zhang Shuai in the quarterfinals provided it can overcome generic Zhang Ling Thursday.
